The Professor Mashinda Kulimba Désiré, Vice Dean has participated at a course about “Epidemiology in Complex Emergencies” with the support of “Skoll Global Threats Fund”. This course held at les Pensières Center for Global Health Merieux Fondation Conference Center in annecy, France with the participation of “Merieux Fondation”, “Epiconcept” and “CORDS”.

 A core group of facilitators and experts in different fields linked with complex emergencies intervened during five days of course (June 19- 23, 2017). This include experts from National Health Institutes, UN agencies, International Organizations and NGOs.

The objective of the course was to strengthen participant’s knowledge and skills related to the response of communicable disease outbreaks affecting country in the context of complex emergency situation.

This course aims to prepare epidemiologist to contribute to the multidisciplinary and international response to complex emergencies, and to apply their epidemiological skills to serve public health interventions.

 The audience of the course was experts with previous knowledge of infectious diseases and epidemiological methods especially study designs and surveillance.
